Workers in Ontario will earn at least $ 14 an hour

Workers in Ontario who earn the minimum wage will see a jump in their hourly rate starting on New Year’s Day after the provincial government passed labor reform legislation earlier this year.

The salary is opportunely made just before the provincial elections in June. The increase in the minimum wage has proved very popular in government surveys and with labor advocates, although it is controversial with companies, who say that the increase comes too quickly and will cause job losses.

As of Monday they will earn $ 14 instead of $ 11.60 as the minimum wage, then in 2019 there will be another change, per hour it will increase to $ 15.
